prasad-gsma, 05 Sep 2022If you are talking about build quality then yes, most of the Sennheiser stuff is plasticky but... more Hifiman is also known to condone human trafficking and slav--y, see their response to the chained woman incident in Xuzhou(guess where Hifiman is based in). They're no longer on my radar be it players, headphones, or speakers.
Samath N8 808 owner, 04 Sep 2022You think so because your own world is limited to just smartphone audio and the recent trends.... more Couldn't agree more. The only reason why I want wireless Bluetooth audio is movability during workouts. Other than that, I don't see the need for it at all.
prasad-gsma, 05 Sep 2022If you are talking about build quality then yes, most of the Sennheiser stuff is plasticky but... more I have the HE400SE for 2 years now and while the build is not that great, if you take care of them, the sound will more than make up for it.

HiFiMan, on the other hand, has the exact opposite reputation.
I tried the Sennheiser 560s and wasn't impressed. They felt cheap. I ended up buying a HIFIMAN he400se.

Samath N8 808 owner, 04 Sep 2022You think so because your own world is limited to just smartphone audio and the recent trends.... more I am pretty sure that guy hasn't even listent to FLAC or at least know what it is.. I have seen these type of people before. They say this because they have never tried the better one. So, they don't really know the difference.. I have heard a guy saying that 9.2.4 soundsystem is a lie and a 2.1 sound system is all that one need. šš He have never experienced how surround sound feels like... That is why he thinks 2.1 is all someone needs. Same with this guy.
This all cheap plastic body makes this headphone a not so "professional" one.
Anonymous, 04 Sep 2022 "headphone jack is outdated and irrelevant." You'll see loads of comments like that here. Since I got my LG V50, I don't even slightly miss going wireless. If anything, I'm going to buy high-grade wired headphones. This one looks like an interesting proposition.

Anonymous, 04 Sep 2022 "headphone jack is outdated and irrelevant." You think so because your own world is limited to just smartphone audio and the recent trends... Bro, audio world is bigger than smartphone. Try listening to just a common 20 year old song in FLAC format, in wired soundmagic E80C earphones on a LG G8x, if you're so insisting on not leaving smartphones. Your opinion will change. Even if all this is not possible, just google various "Bluetooth audio codecs" to see how the wireless world is trying hard just to get a basic sound right.
prasad-gsma, 04 Sep 2022Laws of diminishing returns. You can make a really great sounding pair of headphones for $250 ... more i just bought liberty 3 pro LDAC codec for 140$ and it only has like 2x better sound quality than my very budget 8$ lenovo xt95 pro. paying 1500% more money for 200% better sound doesnt make any sense..sold my liberty 3 pro at half price at day 3 of uses to get some of my money back..
Raz, 04 Sep 2022 Difficult to understand how they sound without comparison with another headphones HD650 for example It's been years since I last heard the HD 650 but I remember them being warmer and less detailed in comparison. The HD 650 also have worse imaging and soundstage and basically perform like closed back headphones in that aspect.
imparanoic, 04 Sep 2022I wonder how good are these headphones compare to my hi-fi man he-x4 planar headphones, would ... more As I understand, the HE-X4 are essentially the same as the HE400se but without the stealth magnets and the two basically sound the same. I have a review of the HE400se on the site. I think it's a fine sounding pair of headphones but I prefer the HD 400 Pro/HD 560 S because they have better bass extension, better imaging and soundstage, and a more even mid-range. They are also relatively compact and don't look as goofy on your head. The HiFiMan have better cable situation if you want to replace them and are a bit more comfortable.

You can make a really great sounding pair of headphones for $250 and then a slightly better sounding one for $1000 and then a slightly better sounding one for $5000. Beyond a certain point it becomes about the nuances in sound brought about by using higher quality materials but even that stops being true after a point and anyone who thinks a $50000 headphone sounds significantly better than $5000 headphones is a snake oil salesman or huffing copium. Companies make the super expensive stuff because people exist who can spend that much money even if it doesn't make practical sense and they just want the best or most expensive stuff around.
