The new 12GB RAM version of the OnePlus 10 Pro is priced just under $1000 in the US, but OnePlus is sweetening the deal with a useful free gift.

A new variant of the OnePlus 10 Pro with more RAM and storage is now available to buy in the United States, and comes with a pretty worthwhile gift. OnePlus launched the OnePlus 10 Pro first in China at the beginning of 2022 before bringing it to global markets including the United States in March. However, since it became available for purchase in the US, it has only been sold with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

In other regions, the phone is available in more than one configuration. Alongside the 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage version, the OnePlus 10 Pro also comes in 8GB RAM+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB RAM+512GB variants. OnePlus' flagship phones don't have a storage expansion slot, so buyers are stuck with whatever configuration they purchase.

The new configuration available for US buyers has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Those who want to pick it up are limited to just one color option - Volcanic Black - unlike the 8GB RAM variant which can be purchased in Emerald Forest or Volcanic Black (T-Mobile version). OnePlus has put a price tag of $969 on this higher configuration model, which is pretty close to the $1,000 mark. While a lot of folks may find this too expensive, OnePlus has sweetened the deal with a free gift.

Those who pick up the OnePlus 10 Pro with 12GB of RAM will get a free pair of OnePlus Buds Pro. The earbuds, which sit at the top of the OnePlus true wireless earphones tree, cost $149 on their own. Subtracting that from the cost of the phone means buyers are technically paying $820 for the phone. That's even cheaper than the $899 selling price of the 8GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage. Buyers have the option to choose from three different colors for the earbuds, including the new Radiant Silver colorway that was announced earlier this year. For those wondering if the earbuds are worth it, below is a recap of the features.

The IP55-rated OnePlus Buds Pro earbuds have active noise cancellation, a transparency mode, force-touch controls, and support Dolby Atmos. Earlier this year, OnePlus added support for Bluetooth multipoint, allowing users to pair them to two devices at the same time. In addition, the earbuds have a battery life of 7 hours with ANC off and a total of 38 hours with the case. They support fast charging with a 10-minute charge providing up to 10 hours of playback. For reference, the case supports both wireless charging and wired charging via a USB-C port.

The OnePlus 10 Pro, on the other hand, packs a 6.7-inch curved QHD+ LTPO2 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and runs Android 12 out of the box. In the camera department, it has a 48MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide angle camera (with a 150-degree field of view), and an 8MP telephoto camera (with OIS for up to 3.3x optical zoom). Owners will find a 32MP sensor inside the display's punch-hole for selfies and video calls. There is also a fingerprint scanner under the display and stereo speakers, but no audio jack. OnePlus ships the phone with a 5000mAh battery that supports 65W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging. Unlike Apple and Samsung, OnePlus also ships its flagship with a charger in the box.
