That might be a slight embellishment. Unless you force your spouse and family to listen to Archer or the NHL Playoffs when they would rather pour hot oil on themselves. I’m not thinking about anyone in particular here at the magazine but we all know who it is. For that selfish person — the Sennheiser TV Clear True Wireless Earbuds might be the ideal Father’s Day gift.

Today’s TVs provide great images, but poor sound. However, don’t settle for poor TV audio. You can connect a soundbar or home theater receiver and speakers, but sometimes you want a more intimate listening experience. 

With that in mind, renowned headphone and earbud maker Sennheiser has announced the TV Clear True Wireless earbuds. These earbuds are designed to provide great audio for TV viewing, including better speech clarity with convenience, comfort, and inconspicuous style. Using the TV Clear True Wireless Earbuds

To use the Sennheiser TV Clear, just connect the included transmitter to your TV’s analog or digital optical output, and pair the transmitter with the TV Clear’s earbuds via Bluetooth.  

Tip: You can also use the TV Clear earbuds with a desktop PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. The TV Clear earbuds can also be used to make and receive calls on your smartphone.

To personalize your listening experience, you can choose from five speech clarity levels, providing up to 20 dB of high-frequency amplification for crystal-clear dialog. 

You can also set your own preferred volume level on the earbuds independently from the TV or other audio source when using them with the transmitter. You can listen at “full” volume undisturbed while others watch at a sound level comfortable for them.  

The TV Clear also has an Ambient Awareness mode that lets you hear external sound while wearing the earbuds – ideal for TV viewing with family or friends.

Tip: You can turn off ambient awareness mode for more privacy. 

​TV Clear offers multiple device connectivity: Link to TVs with the transmitter or connect to multiple devices including televisions, tablets, and smartphones via Bluetooth. For TV viewing, the transmitter provides low latency to keep audio and video in sync. This is a good feature as Bluetooth doesn’t always sync well with TV audio.

The TV Clear wireless earbuds weigh 6.9 grams. This provides added comfort as earbuds and headphones can become uncomfortable when using them for long time periods.

Sennheiser also provides secure fit options with a selection of secure-fit ear tips and fins in different sizes. Whether you want to sit, lie down or walk around, the TV Clear earbuds are designed to stay comfortably in place without disturbing TV viewing. The Clear App and Control

You can further personalize your listening experience with TV Clear App. The app also guides through earbud setup. 

There are also intuitive touch controls that can be customized to your preference as well as a “Find My Earbuds” in case you forget where you last set them down.

​​TV Clear features a battery that provides up to 15 hours of listening time on a single charge when used with the transmitter.

Your piece doesn’t address connecting the Sennheiser box to a setup with only one optical output for the display when that’s used for a sound bar. For example, my Apple TV is connected to my display via HDMI and the display output goes to a sound bar. Bluetooth connection would introduce delay and lower quality.
