The new NuraTrue Pro offer lossless CD-quality audio and a host of other features that make it one ... [+] of the most advanced pair of earphones on the market.
Pioneering Australian headphone brand Nura has announced its first pair of earphones to offer lossless audio streaming over Bluetooth. The NuraTrue Pro are the second-generation wireless earbuds joining Nura’s existing portfolio of products. It’s been five years since Nura launched the original NuraPhone wireless headphones and the new model will be available to pre-order on Kickstarter from today and will begin shipping later this year.
Thanks to Qualcomm’s latest audio technology, the NuraTrue support CD-quality lossless audio (16-bit, 44.1 kHz) over Bluetooth using the aptX Lossless codec for uncompressed, bit-perfect audio. When combined with Nura’s Personalized Sound technology, which measures a user’s hearing to create a customized EQ, the NuraTrue Pro should produce extremely high-quality sound in a small and convenient form factor.
NuraTrue Pro also include a Spatial Audio mode powered by Swedish sound pioneer Dirac, providing an immersive audio experience. Spatial Audio can turn almost any stereo content into an immersive sound experience with an accurate soundstage and perfect sound quality, from any source or streaming platform. Listeners can experience a more balanced sound and an expanded soundscape with all the spatial cues of the original stereo content.

NuraTrue Pro earphones also improve upon the noise cancellation performance of their predecessor by using Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation technology. A precision cancellation signal dynamically adapts to changes in earbuds’ positioning and the input from three noise-sensing microphones that analyze background sounds which are then sampled by advanced digital signal processing.
Debuting with the NuraTrue is Nura’s ProEQ, a popular feature that’s available exclusively on the NuraTrue Pro and enables manual fine-tuning of the EQ using the companion Nura smartphone app. The NuraTrue Pro also use Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint connections, enabling users to connect to multiple sources at the same time. The NuraTrue Pro supports dynamic primary earbud switching, enabling either earbud to be used independently.
When it comes to making phone calls, advanced digital signal processing picks up the user’s voice using four microphones, including a bone conduction sensor to improve the signal-to-noise ratio. Nura says the new earphones ensure voice calls are crystal clear, even when there’s a lot of background noise. The bone conduction sensor picks up vibrations from the user’s body to produce clearer speech in all environments.
With eight hours of playback time on a single charge and 24 hours of charge in the storage case, the ... [+] NuraTrue Pro can play for up to 32 hours before the case needs to be recharged.
The storage case of the NuraTrue Pro can be charged wirelessly with any Qi-certified charging device and provides up to eight hours of playback on a single charge. With the earphones and the charging case, there’s up to 32 hours of listening time.
The Immersion Slider is a staple feature of the Nura headphone line-up and enables users to dial the level of bass up or down to suit their tastes, without it affecting the reproduction of high and mid frequencies. Each earbud also has a touch sensor that can be configured with up to eight unique touch inputs enabling users to have total control without using their phone.
NuraTrue Pro also has sensors that can detect when the earbuds are positioned correctly in the ear for the best listening experience. There are four sizes of silicone ear tips supplied with the earphones, plus a set of foam ear tips and two sizes of secure-fit wings.
The Nura app can be used to customise the NuraTrue Pro earphones.
Thanks to optical in-ear sensors, the earbuds can automatically pause the music when an earbud is removed. As soon as put back in the ear, the music starts again. This auto-pause behavior can be configured so that the music pauses when just one earbud is removed, or when both are taken out. It can be turned off completely using the Nura companion app which is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app is used to create a unique hearing profile for the user and to customize the earphones.
Finally, NuraTrue Pro earphones are powered by the latest generation Qualcomm QCC5171 Bluetooth audio system on a chip that unlocks the transmission bandwidth needed for uncompressed, bit-perfect 16-bit 44.1kHz audio quality. Qualcomm aptX Lossless is the latest codec to be added to the company’s aptX Adaptive technology and is a new feature of the Snapdragon Sound platform that will soon be available on source devices running the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform.
