Connecting Apple AirPods and other Bluetooth earphones to the PS5 should be a great way of getting good-sounding audio quality without the need for cables or additional dongles. Unfortunately, it’s a trickier process than you might expect. While it is certainly possible, you will need an additional piece of hardware. Here’s how to connect AirPods to PS5, as well as other Bluetooth earphones.
To connect other Bluetooth earphones and headphones to the PS5, users must plug a Bluetooth adapter into the PS5 or DualSense controller and pair it to that.
Unfortunately, the PS5 itself doesn’t have any Bluetooth receiver built-in for pairing with audio devices. Users must therefore invest extra money into an adapter.
While there may be a touch of added latency which can make fast-paced games or movie-watching a little tougher to digest, the convenience factor shouldn’t be ignored. However, users may struggle to get any Bluetooth microphone audio working with the PS5, even with an adapter.
